Description of Work
As the Office Associate, you will provide administrative assistance to the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, and serve as a liaison between the Administrative Coordinator, Department Office, the College, University administrative units, students, and the public.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the chairperson in the planning, organizing, administering, and monitoring of the administration of the Department and the Barkley Memorial Center
  • Preparing and submitting various reports as required by the Department, College, and University.
  • Maintaining data and files related to departmental activities and processes.
  • Managing class scheduling for the Department, coordinating with faculty, advisors, and other University offices.
  • Making travel arrangements.
  • Scheduling meetings and organizing their agendas and documentation.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency plus four (4) years of experience providing administrative support or similar work; OR
  • Associate degree in business, communications, English or related field plus two (2) years of experience providing administrative support or similar work. Equivalent experience/education considered.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with strong organizational and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently within established procedures required.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
  • Experience in higher education setting.
