| Description of Work | The Associate Director of Academic Advising Initiatives provides oversight of academic advising, new student onboarding, and student success initiatives within the College of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities include coordinating college participation in new student enrollment and orientation programs; supervising, developing, and assessing professional advising staff; leading advisor training and workload management; supporting college-wide retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives; maintaining a limited advising caseload while providing complex academic guidance; collaborating with academic departments and campus partners to improve student success outcomes; and contributing to assessment, data analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. The role also serves on college and university committees and advances professional development and best practices in academic advising.
