Description of Work
The Hospitality Service Leader performs routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of Campus Recreation buildings including offices, halls, conference rooms, classrooms, restrooms, and locker and shower rooms.

In this role you will:
  • Scrub and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines.
  • Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors.
  • Mix cleaning solutions per instruction.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse that may require heavy physical efforts.
  • Lift and move objects weighing about 50 pounds and occasionally more.
Must be able to work at any Campus Recreation facility.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus two years of custodial experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Experience must demonstrate ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios.
  • Ability to gain the knowledge and skill necessary to safely operate large cleaning equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional relevant coursework or specialized training beyond high school.
  • Three to five years of custodial experience and one year of leadership experience.
  • IEHA, ISSA, or CMI training/certificates.
