Description of Work
The Assistant Director assists with managing and enhancing programming within the Institute in the College of Business. This Assistant Director position has a particular focus on management and implementation of student focused strengths programming.Responsibilities include administrative work with BSAD 111: Investing in Strengths, an eight-week first-year experience course for all incoming business students, and BSAD111S, the online version of this course designed for transfer students. The BSAD111 course revolves around the discovery and implementation of results from the CliftonStrengths Assessment for over 900 College of Business students each year. As a part of BSAD 111, students from all across campus are recruited to be student strengths coaches. The BSAD course is offered in a large-lecture format once per week, with an additional meeting once per week in a smaller recitation section facilitated by experienced student strengths coaches. The Assistant Director will coordinate and supervise the recitation facilitators, supervise and train the student strengths coaches, and provide coaching to guide the coaches’ personal and leadership development. The Assistant Director will also assist with developing and facilitating strengths-based workshops and coaching for internal campus and community partners to continue to promote a strengths-based culture across UNL’s campus.
