Description of Work
The Department of Food Science and Technology is advancing multi-disciplinary approaches for safe, sustainable and healthy foods through innovative research, teaching and outreach.

As a Digital Media Associate, you will:
  • Create and manage content for department screen displays.
  • Update and maintain departmental website to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and accessibility.
  • Manage and update departmental social media platforms with timely and engaging content.
  • Design and create content for departmental newsletters.
  • Photograph departmental and center events for use in digital and print communications.
  • Serve as departmental liaison with Information Services for faculty, staff, students, and grad students.
  • Contribute to front office operations including visitor reception, shipment/delivery handling, and student assistance.
This position is located at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln, NE, which includes the Nebraska Innovation Studio, the Scarlet Hotel, and the Mill Coffee & Bistro. Within the UNL system, the position is categorized as an Office Associate.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in communications, graphic design, business or a related field plus 2 years related experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Experience in graphic design applications including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance the administration of multiple projects, meet deadlines with attention to detail, and work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
  • Knowledge of social media and web marketing for higher education and/or retail.
  • Basic HTML skills along with web design and content writing experience.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computers, audio visual, and/or teleconferencing equipment.
