We’re looking for someone to join our team to support a dynamic student community dedicated to academic achievement, leadership development, civic engagement, and community & belonging for members of the Fraternity & Sorority life community.

The Coordinator is a full-time staff member and will operate within a collaborative team approach. The Coordinator will serve as a member of the advising team providing support, guidance, and direction for the four governing councils (Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Association) and fraternity and sorority chapters.

The fraternity and sorority community at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln consists of 50+ organizations with a membership of more than 4,300 students, including 30 chapter housing facilities with more than 1,600 residents. Candidates must be able to interact well with staff and student population in a professional and productive manner.
The Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life will:

  • Play a key leadership role in the development of building community and belonging that directly contributes to retention and academic success of students within the fraternity and sorority community.
  • Directly advising one or two of our governing councils through program development, assessment, comprehensive education and training programs, leadership development for community/chapter officers, and organizational development for chapters.
  • Provide key departmental leadership and support in the areas of academics and community outreach.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of experience or master’s degree in higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Greek-letter organizations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building community.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Greek-letter organizations. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and alumni. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with campus departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and one year of experience.
  • Undergraduate or graduate membership of a Greek-letter organization.
  • Previous experience working with inter/national fraternal organizations.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication and outreach plans.
  • Working knowledge of student development and leadership education theory.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a fraternity and sorority community (ie. Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Panhellenic Association.) Working knowledge of student development and leadership education theory.
