Description of Work
The College of Business Department of Finance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in finance starting fall 2026. The position will include an initial teaching load of three courses per academic year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, plus research and service expectations. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be competitive with Big Ten Universities. The position is tenure leading, but it does not offer tenure upon hire.

About the Department
The Department has 14 finance faculty members serving undergraduate, MBA and PhD programs. The department and college have excellent data resources and access to WRDS. Current faculty members have recent publications in many of the leading journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others. Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in finance, a Ph.D. in Business with an emphasis in finance, or a Ph.D. in a related discipline. Applicants near completion of Ph.D. will be considered.
  • Evidence of, or potential for, developing and maintaining a significant research program consistent with Big Ten university standards.
