| Description of Work | The Introduction to Robotic Prototyping instructor is responsible for teaching a certificate-granting course on the fundamentals of robotic prototyping. Introduction to Robotic Prototyping is designed to give entrepreneurs the basic knowledge to begin robotic prototyping, including CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining, fiber and CO2 laser cutting, and electronic programming. The Introduction to Robotic Prototyping Instructor will work closely with the College of Engineering, and the Director and Assistant Director of Nebraska Innovation Studio (NIS) on the design and implementation of the curriculum, which will be taught at Nebraska Innovation Studio. The Introduction to Robotic Prototyping Instructor will also assist NIS members who using prototyping equipment such as CO2 and fiber lasers, wood and metal CNCs, 3D printers, electronics and robotic arms. The Introduction to Robotic Prototyping Instructor will be responsible for keeping records and meeting deadlines related to a federal grant and the Introduction to Robotic Prototyping program. | Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with an emphasis on robotics and 2 years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience considered. Experience with robotics. Prior history demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate and instruct. Ability to design, and implement curriculum. Ability to learn and use automated systems. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in engineering, or related field, with an emphasis on robotics. CAD design, experience with instruction or training, ability to coordinate a complex project with multiple stakeholders and meet time sensitive deliverables, data or information management experience, professional experience in robotic prototyping. Experience and success instructing diverse groups |
