| Description of Work | This position contributes to the Nebraska City Union and the Nebraska East Campus Starbucks success by leading a team of assistant managers, shift managers and store baristas to create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers and partners. The store manager is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the store. In particular, a majority of the time is spent supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), training all staff, ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store’s financial performance, and managing safety and security within the store. The position is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. | Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in retail management, including personnel management required; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated experience at building community relationships necessary. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing essential. Must have ability to manage store operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously required. Must have ability to manage resources to ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and customer service skills essential. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures required. Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment necessary. Must have strong problem-solving, team-building and leadership skills. Ability to coach and mentor others, plan and prioritize workload and handle confidential and sensitive information required. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree with experience in accounting/business or combination of post-secondary education and experience to equal five years in retail positions of increasing responsibilities preferred. Staff training experience desirable. |
