Description of Work
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is seeking an Awards Coordinator to join our team at one of three levels, depending on qualifications and experience

The Awards Coordinator negotiates, reviews and processes awards, nondisclosure agreements, and material transfer agreements involving UNL faculty for completeness. Missing information will be obtained in a timely manner and coordinated with both Pre- and Post-award functions. Updates NuRamp and other databases to reflect the award information and department entered information will be validated.

The Awards Coordinator II and III also provides oversight and training for department-level professional and support staff assigned to project activities.

In addition, the Awards Coordinator III provides oversight, training, and/or mentoring for other OSP staff.

The Office of Sponsored Programs supports the University of Nebraska-Lincoln community in obtaining and managing external funding to support research, creative, and scholarly activities. We provide pre-award and post-award services throughout the award life cycle. The Director of Sponsored Programs serves as the institutional official responsible for submitting, negotiating and accepting awards on behalf of the Board of Regents.

The Award Acceptance & Contract Negotiation Team is focused on ensuring the university’s success in managing grants and awards effectively. Tasked with reviewing the terms and conditions of every award received, this team plays a crucial role in safeguarding the university’s interests while maximizing the goals of each researcher.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Coordinator I:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field plus 1 year of experience with contractual or grant management in an office, agency, or educational institution; additional relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency with PC operations and in word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and presentation software (e.g., MS Office Suite).

Coordinator II:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field plus 5 years of experience with contractual or grant management in an office, agency, or educational institution; additional relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency with PC operations and in word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and presentation software (e.g., MS Office Suite).

Coordinator III:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or related field plus 7 years of experience with contractual or grant management in an office, agency, or educational institution; additional relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency with PC operations and in word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and presentation software (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Coordinator I:
  • Experience in research or contract administration at an educational or state agency with an emphasis in grant and/or contracting duties.
  • Knowledge of NuRamp, Uniform Guidance, research.gov, FAR/DFAR clauses
Coordinator II:
  • Experience in research administration at an educational or state agency with an emphasis in grant and/or contracting duties.
  • Knowledge of, and some experience with, NuRamp, Uniform Guidance, research.gov, FAR/DFAR clauses.
  • CRA

Coordinator III:
  • Experience in research administration at a Nebraska educational or state agency with an emphasis in grant and/or contracting duties.
  • Extensive experience with NuRamp, Uniform Guidance , research.gov, FAR/DFAR clauses
  • CRA
Ideal Candidate Statement
