Job Description

The Communications Intern will support Olsson’s external and internal communications efforts through hands-on content creation, storytelling, and research. This role offers meaningful, portfolio-ready experience across social media, written content, media relations, and internal communications. The intern will collaborate closely with the communications team to help tell people-focused stories, support recruiting and brand awareness efforts, and strengthen Olsson’s voice across channels.

This internship is designed to balance foundational skill-building with stretch opportunities that challenge and grow the intern’s writing, interviewing, editing, and organizational capabilities.

We are looking for a student intern to start in May or June and work 40 hours per week during the summer with the potential to continue working part-time into the school year.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE office locations.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

  • Working collaboratively with others.
  • Having ownership in the work you do.
  • Using your talents to positively affect communities.

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team .
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field of study.
  • Comfort conducting interviews and working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (Canva experience is a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Campus leadership or experience managing projects or organizations is a plus.
