Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced MicroStation Drafting Technician to join our land survey team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD drafting and design, with proficiency in MicroStation and TopoDOT. This role involves performing advanced CAD assignments, coordinating drafting efforts, and providing training for less-experienced drafters. The technician will work on city projects and Department of Transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mid-level to advanced CAD drafting and design duties using MicroStation and TopoDOT.
- Coordinate drafting efforts and provide guidance to less-experienced drafters.
- Create and update all types of drawings, including engineering and construction plans.
- Run calculations and ensure accuracy in all drafting work.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide training and support for new or less-experienced employees.
Travel to job sites for observation and to perform field work as needed, in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Associate’s degree in CAD Drafting or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in CAD drafting with experience in civil engineering or related fields
- Proficiency in MicroStation, TopoDOT, and SolidWorks
- Knowledge of trigonometry
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history
- Basic understanding of land surveying principles preferred
