Seasonal Noxious Weed Inspector – Performs seasonal field inspections of public and private property to identify noxious weed infestations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and ordinances. Documents findings, conducts follow-up inspections, provides basic weed control information, and completes inspection reports using mobile devices. Work is performed independently under established guidelines and supervision.
Examples of Work Performed
- Conducts field inspections to identify and document noxious weed infestations.
- Provides basic weed control information and issues notices when needed.
- Researches property ownership, obtains legal descriptions, photographs sites, and completes reports.
- Conducts follow-up inspections to verify weed control.
- Assists with contractor inspections for forced control when required.
- Performs related office and seasonal duties as assigned.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:
- Knowledge of noxious weed identification and control methods.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to interact professionally with property owners and the public.
- Ability to use mobile devices for inspections.
Qualifications: Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent with some experience in the identification of noxious weeds and some experience researching and recording legal descriptions; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.Hours: Full time, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Necessary Requirement: Possession of a valid driver's license.
