We're currently seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker II to join the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Team. In this role, you’ll perform and assist with a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks across city buildings, landscaped areas, pedestrian bridges, and more.

What You'll Do:

Building & Equipment Maintenance

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems and specialized equipment
  • Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, and general building systems
  • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance calls and perform routine upgrades

Grounds & Exterior Maintenance

  • Maintain walkways, driveways, and parking areas
  • Care for planter beds, trees, shrubs, and irrigation systems
  • Maintain security and outdoor lighting

This position is a skilled lead technical position, should have work knowledge and experience in the following trades, Plumbing, Heating & Airconditioning, Electrical, Masonry, Carpentry, Turf Irrigation systems, low pressure hot water boiler systems, Rubber & Metal roof repairs and general building maintenance such as garage doors, garage door openers.

Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Municipal Services Center Maintenance is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation and utilities services year-round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU. Desired Qualification: Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (CDL)


Highly Desired: (2) two years’ experience of building maintenance with electrical, mechanical, HVAC Experience, knowledge with operations of cooling tower and water source heat pumps.


Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent plus two years of experience in a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction activities in any one or more of the craft disciplines including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical repair and related disciplines; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements

Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
