Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is currently seeking two (2) energetic, self-driven Professional Golf Management students enrolled at UNL to be interns to assist with golf instruction at the Lincoln City Golf Courses in the Ager Golf Course Instructor Internship role. This is a wonderful paid opportunity to be involved in the growing area of golf instruction in the city. Interns will gain valuable experience teaching golf camps, clinics, and Get Golf Ready programs to adults and juniors of different skill levels. Position will include coaching PGA Jr League, assisting in daily operations, and helping grow the business of teaching and player development for the City Golf Courses.
What You'll Be Doing:
Interns will gain valuable experience teaching golf camps, clinics, and Get Golf Ready programs to adults and juniors of different skill levels. Position will include coaching PGA Jr League, assisting in daily operations, and helping grow the business of teaching and player development for the City Golf Courses. 85% of your time in this position will be spent teaching golf. 15% of your time will be spent working at the clubhouse area at Jim Ager Golf Course.
Who We're Looking For:- Motivated individuals who are able to help promote different programs as well as carry out the existing ones already in place
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to bend, kneel, or crouch periodically; must be able to stand for extended periods of time on range
- Teaching experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation and Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages. *This is an unclassified (temporary) position and is not eligible for benefits.
Schedule: May – August 2026 (potential to start working part-time in early March). Up to 35 hours per week; varies Monday thru Sunday.
Minimum Qualifications:Must be 16 years of age or older
Enrollment into PGM program at UNL
Must have or obtain Food Handlers Permit once hired

The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln.Our team manages 168 parks, 185.9 miles of trails, 97 playgrounds, over 83,000 street trees, nine public pools, six recreation centers, five golf (and disc golf) courses, five dog runs, a nature center, and beautiful public gardens. Our programs include recreation summer day camps, before and after school programs, clubs and classes for individuals with special needs, adult and youth team sports, nature-based classes and events, swimming lessons, wellness and fitness classes for all ages, and a variety of free events and classes for all ages.
