We welcome applicants who are eager to learn, grow, and build a career in fire and emergency medical services. This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience and serve the community. Minimum Qualifications: <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent.</li> <li>Applicants must be at least 19 years old on or before the posted closing date of March 1, 2026.</li> <li>Candidates must meet physical requirements as established by the City of Lincoln.</li> <li> MUST POSSESS A CURRENT (within the last year of March 1, 2026) IAFF/IAFC CPAT CERTIFICATION. </li> <li>Possession of valid driver's license</li> <li> MUST POSSESS A CURRENT NEBRASKA STATE OR NATIONAL REGISTRY EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) AT TIME OF APPLICATION.</li> <li>Must obtain the following certifications within 120 days of appointment: <ul> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Firefighter I</li> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Firefighter II</li> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Hazardous Materials Operations</li> </ul> </li> <li>National Registry EMT or Nebraska State EMT License.</li> </ul> ALL APPLICANTS: <ul> <li>Selected candidates must submit to, and successfully pass a substance abuse test. </li> <li>Applicants who successfully meet the requirements will be scheduled for the on-line written exam on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
