We welcome applicants who are eager to learn, grow, and build a career in fire and emergency medical services. This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience and serve the community.</p> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. </li> <li>Applicants must be at least 19 years old by the posted closing date of March 1, 2026.</li> <li>Must possess a current (within the last year as of March 1, 2026.) IAFF/IAFC CPAT Certification.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>State of Nebraska Paramedic License and National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification. </li> <li>NRP Certification is required on the date of hire. </li> <li>State of Nebraska Paramedic License is required within 90 days from the date of hire. </li> <li>Must obtain the following certifications within 120 days of appointment:<ul> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Firefighter I</li> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Firefighter II</li> <li>IFSAC/Pro-Board Hazardous Materials Operations</li> </ul> </li> <li>Successful completion of the Lincoln EMS system certification for ALS within 1 year of appointment is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.</li> </ul> <br><p><strong>ALL APPLICANTS: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Selected candidates must submit to, and successfully pass a substance abuse test. </li> <li>Applicants who successfully meet the requirements will be scheduled for the on-line written exam on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
