Are you hands-on, mechanically inclined, and looking to grow your skills while supporting essential City services? Join our team as a Maintenance Operator I - Wastewater Theresa Street with Lincoln Transportation and Utilities and play a key role in keeping our wastewater treatment facilities operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. As a Maintenance Operator I, you’ll support the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and remote pumping stations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with equipment, and contributing to a team-focused environment.

What You'll Do
  • Perform or assist with mechanical and physical maintenance activities across facilities and pumping stations
  • Install, repair, service, and troubleshoot a wide variety of conventional and specialized equipment
  • Understand how equipment performance impacts treatment processes and operations
  • Perform general building and facility maintenance such as painting, plumbing, and cleaning
  • Properly use and care for assigned tools and equipment
  • Adapt to new technologies and learn new systems and equipment
  • Accurately document labor, materials, and work activities in the CMMS
  • Communicate equipment status, downtime, and maintenance needs with facility staff
  • Respond to emergency situations and non-scheduled maintenance needs
  • Perform grounds and site maintenance, including snow removal, mowing, and trimming
  • Assist with procuring equipment and supplies per established policies

Hours: Full time; Monday - Friday; 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent and six months of experience in a variety of maintenance, repair and construction activities and in facilities maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Necessary Special Requirement
Possession of a valid driver's license.
