SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive foot care and health screenings to older adults and caregivers in the Aging Partners service areas. This position may also assist with other preventive health screenings at occasional special events and health fairs.*Paid training provided.
This is a part-time position working 5-15 hours per week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential:
1. Provide comprehensive foot care using established protocol at foot clinics in the Aging Partners service areas, under RN supervision.
2. Travel to rural clinics as requested using an agency vehicle.
3. Educate clients about how to care for their feet between clinic visits.
4. Respond to client questions related to foot care and other health issues within area of expertise.
5. Perform health screening such as blood pressure, blood glucose and similar measures as indicated.
6. Make referrals to physicians and other health or human services professionals as indicated.
7. Work with other Aging Partners staff to ensure client intakes and documentation of services are complete and accurate.
8. Assist with blood pressure, blood glucose or other health screenings offered at special events or health fairs on an occasional basis.
Non-Essential:
9. Assist with ordering and/or purchasing of foot care supplies as needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
DESIRABLE ABILITY AND SKILLS
Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nebraska and a valid driver’s license are required. Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques required.
Communication, organizational skills and a desire to develop creative ways to serve targeted populations are a plus.
