Senior Accountant + Retail + Lincoln

Our client, a well-established, high-volume organization is adding to its accounting team and looking for a Senior Accountant who can bring strong technical accounting skills, ownership mentality, and the confidence to operate in a fast-paced environment. This is a role where you’ll have visibility, influence, and the opportunity to grow into future leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Play a key role in month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Support accounting tied to inventory, cost of goods sold, and multi-location operations
• Partner with operational and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting across the business
• Assist with audit support and maintain strong internal controls
• Help improve accounting workflows, reporting efficiency, and automation initiatives
• Take ownership of critical accounting functions in a high-transaction environment

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and close processes
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset

Preferred Background

• Retail or distribution experience
• Exposure to inventory and cost accounting
• Someone ready to step into increased leadership responsibilities over time
