Job Title: Project Engineering Technician

SUMMARY:

Creates, updates, and controls necessary documentation related to project integration. Manages daily activities to effectively prioritize workload. Assist Project Engineers during the implementation of new product launches.

WAGE TYPE: Hourly

FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt

  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to document processes during development.
  • Creates written and visual work instructions. Identify potential issues or concerns while documenting processes.
  • Coordinates document change requests as required.
  • Work with AgilePoint workflows to post documents on internal Document Control System.
  • Maintains electronic files all integration documentation. Verify documents to ensure most current is retained and obsolete old.
  • Audits project APQP documents to ensure their accuracy and completeness.
  • Submits changes to ensure compliance with all ISO9001/TS16949 and ISO14001 documentation.
  • Completing technical documentation for production release, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submittals to customers, and first article inspection reports (FAIRs).
  • Utilizes various software programs to develop controlled documentation.
  • Verifies information with customers, suppliers, standards publishers, and internal departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Manage daily tasks and prioritize workload to be available when needed on the floor to document processes.
  • Operate Faro/Romer Arm and various measurement tools to inspect parts to specifications.
  • Assist Engineers with design of internal processes and tooling, including gages and fixtures used to produce parts. Ensuring utmost attention to safety and quality.
  • Assist Integration Specialist with plating samples.
  • Flexible, team player, well-organized and attention to detail are key talents to this role.
  • Experience using Solidworks or other CAD software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with APQP & PPAP processes a plus.
  • Could potentially encounter hazardous chemicals.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: Manager, Integration

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

Expected: High school diploma or GED

Preferred: Associate’s degree in engineering

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, and blueprints.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively over the telephone, via e-mail or in person.

Other Skills:

  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds with a variety of sitting and standing for periods of time.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications.
  • Skill and ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to use basic office machines: PC, printer, copier
