SUMMARY:
The Sr. Financial Analyst reports to Controller and works closely with the VFO and other members of the senior leadership team to manage the functions of financial planning, forecasting, standard costs, and ERP system optimization. Involved in analysis of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis, including profitability analysis and expense analysis. Leads cross-functional reviews of business segments that drive action. Develop strategies to advance the goals of the department and company.
The Sr. Financial Analyst should be forward-looking, driving improvements and profitability, not just reporting on past performance. This is a highly visible and critical role that will work closely with all areas of the business including operations, sourcing, supply chain management, and sales.
WAGE TYPE: Salaried Exempt. FLSA Exemption: Administrative Exemption.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage annual profit plan (budget) across the enterprise
- Work with various departments to compile sales, production, SG&A, and other budgets.
- Assist Controller in creation of new budget departments, divisions, segments.
• Compile monthly business segment P&L statements and other reporting.
- Lead monthly segment reviews with cross-function teams.
- Drive productivity and identify opportunities to improve profitability within segments.
• Financial Analysis
- Primary accounting staff person to provide or supervise the completion of financial analysis for various internal stakeholders
- Evaluation of weekly reporting distributed by other cross-function team members related to sales, gross margin, department breakdowns, and all other P/L rated items.
• Owner of standard costs across all enterprise locations
- Work with Systems Analyst and site leadership in the maintenance and improvement of standard costing systems and primary liaison with internal stakeholders in dissemination of standing costing information
• Develop and maintain costing/quoting tools for all locations and support various sales functions in quote development and review.
• Primary contact for financial requests and support for Operations.
• Helps enforce and reinforce company policies and practices.
• May be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
• Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
• Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries’ Beliefs and Drivers
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education
Expected: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred: 3-5 years of public accounting experience. CPA or CMA highly desired.
Communication Skills:
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, suppliers, or internal stakeholders.
Other Skills:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concreate variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Office and Outlook
- Computer data entry
- Problem solving skills
- Good working knowledge of accounting
- Excellent communication skills
Physical Requirements:
