Lincoln Airport Authority

The Lincoln Airport Authority is a local government entity existing under the Constitution and the laws of the State of Nebraska, including the Nebraska Airport Authorities Act of 1959. The airport is owned by the City of Lincoln, but the City has given care, custody, and control of the airport to the Authority, and the Authority maintains and operates the airport. The Authority is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five members who are elected by voters of the City. The airport presently encompasses an area of approximately 5,500 acres and is located approximately five miles northwest of downtown Lincoln. The Authority not only operates the airport, but also a one thousand acre industrial park, consisting mostly of manufacturing and warehousing tenants. The airport has approximately 85 employees including its own police force, as well as customer service, facilities and maintenance, and administrative personnel.
