Essential Functions of Logistics and Compliance Specialist can include:

• Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA.
• Prepare and review shipping paperwork; including federal export filing submissions.
• Communicate with various KMM departments to determine transportation needs; provide assistance where necessary.
• Freight damage; verifying responsibility and coordinating inventory quarantine.
• Request and coordinate bookings for ocean export shipments.
• Review, validate and process payment of trailer/container detention charges.
• Communicate with ship lines, trucking companies, and airlines to ensure shipping or receiving deadlines are met.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Relevant experience in transportation, supply chain, and/or import/export operations preferred.

Computer Skills

Displays appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications, including: spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), word processing (e.g. Word), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), databases (e. g., Access, contact management software), internet/intranet (e.g., browsers, search engines), special applications (e.g., Cribmaster, AS400), e-mail; can diagnose and correct minor issues with hardware and software, as needed.

Required to wear company apparel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Majority of tasks will be conducted in an open office environment. May work outside or in other areas of the facility as needed
