Hausmann is seeking an ambitious and technically proficient BIM Coordinator to support our project teams in delivering high-quality, coordinated construction projects. This role is crucial for minimizing risk and ensuring model compliance across all project phases.

The primary focus of this position is process management and quality control, specifically managing the VDC/BIM coordination workflows established by our design and trade partners. This is a critical technical management position responsible for digital assurance and field support.

Key Responsibilities

The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for the tactical, day-to-day management of the project coordination process:

1. Subcontractor and Model Management

  • Track, receive, and manage all incoming architectural, structural, and MEP subcontractor model submissions.
  • Verify that all submitted models adhere to the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP), including naming conventions, file size, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
  • Assemble and maintain federated models using Autodesk Navisworks Manage.

2. Clash Detection and Issue Resolution

  • Systematically run and analyze clash detection reports (Hard & Soft Clashes) within the federated model.
  • Prepare clear, actionable reports identifying and tracking unresolved coordination issues.
  • Work closely with trade foremen, project engineers, and designers to drive timely issue resolution.

3. Project Coordination Meetings

  • Organize, facilitate, and document weekly BIM coordination meetings.
  • Lead the review of active clash reports in Navisworks during meetings, ensuring accountability and setting deadlines for resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of coordination minutes, decisions, and model version control.

4. VDC Field Support & Technology Linkage

  • Provide technical support to project teams for accessing and utilizing VDC data in the field (e.g., using models on tablets for layout, quality control, and progress tracking).
  • Assist in connecting VDC/BIM data to project management platforms, particularly Procore.
  • Support the Construction Technology Director in reinforcing company-wide VDC standards across project teams.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Experience: 0-5 years of professional experience, internships, or academic exposure to BIM coordination processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with core BIM software, specifically Autodesk Revit (model viewing/QA) and Autodesk Navisworks (federation and clash detection).
  • Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction processes, trades, and reading 2D plans and 3D models.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred

  • Prior experience or familiarity with the Procore project management platform.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with creating and enforcing a BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
