Description of Work
The College of Education at Doane University invites applicants for a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position. This is a hybrid position, allowing work from a home office and shared time between our Lincoln and Crete campuses.

The PIVOT (Paraprofessional Intensive Vocational Onramp to Teaching) Project Coordinator provides overall coordination of the project and all project activities. The coordinator collaborates with external project partners and internal key personnel and stakeholders to ensure the achievement of project goals and objectives. The grant-funded faculty member and project coordinator provides crucial expertise to the FIPSE PIVOT program and expands Doane University’s capacity to offer high-quality, short-term programs to train paraprofessionals to work in the nation’s K-12 schools and enable teachers to earn a credential in “Artificial Intelligence (AI) for K-12 Teaching.”

Primary responsibilities for this 12-month faculty position include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate educator preparation programs. This position is part of the College of Education. The Project Coordinator reports to the Project Director, the Dean of the College of Education.

Responsibilities include:
  • Teach in Doane’s grant developed Courses online
  • Advise students in the PIVOT programs
  • Participate in FIPSE PRIME recruiting seminars for the programs and recruiting and enrollment activities for students applying to the Doane University PRIME education program.
  • Serve as the secondary local point of contact for all project activities (PD is primary).
  • Maintain the daily activities of the project.
  • Respond to calls/inquiries/emails about the activities, the grant program, and proposed plans
  • Work with Doane IT and marketing staff to establish a FIPSE PIVOT Doane email address and a FIPSE PIVOT webpage on the Doane website.
  • Work with the PD to ensure compliance with NDE requirements
  • Coordinate and facilitate all project meetings and communications among key stakeholders
  • Coordinate project efforts with Doane’s offices of extended learning opportunities, financial aid, admissions, enrollment, marketing, advising, and others as needed
  • Collaborate with key personnel to create and implement new PIVOT programming as described in the proposal
  • Assist with gathering data for project evaluation, including external evaluation
  • Assist with writing and submitting reports
  • Develop and maintain a system for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating project information to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain systems for monitoring and assessing student outcomes.
  • Share findings from the project through conference presentations and manuscript submissions.
  • Communicate an informed understanding of project activities to college and university constituencies.
  • Monitor grant expenditures, ensuring activities and programs are implemented within Federal and institutional rules and regulations
  • Coordinate grant payroll expenditures, stipends, the purchase of materials and supplies for the project, travel expenses, and contractual payments in collaboration with the Senior Grant Accountant and appropriate Business Office staff, such as Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain receipts and records in collaboration with the Senior Grant Accountant.

This position is funded in whole or in part by external grant funding. Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Education or a related field
  • At least 3 years of K-12 teaching experience
  • Commitment to fostering student engagement in instruction
  • Experience with teaching, developing online coursework, and utilizing emerging technologies in education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching online in an higher education environment (e.g., university, college)
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Must be eligible to hold or have previously held a teaching certification
