Description of Work
Doane University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Lincoln Campus as an Assistant or Associate Professor in our fully on-ground Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) track graduate program. The Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program is CACREP accredited and has a 25-year history in the Lincoln community. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program, with preference given to candidates who have a background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The anticipated start date for the position is August 2026.

The position is a 12-month, tenure-track position with a 30 credit hour annual workload. This 30 credit hours includes responsibilities of teaching, coordinating clinical placements, and program/university service.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach 21-24 credit hours of on-ground CMHC curriculum courses per calendar year
  • Coordinate clinical placements for the MAC program
  • Provide group faculty supervision for Practicum/Internship students weekly
  • Engage in faculty scholarly activity, including service and advocacy efforts
  • Participate in the admissions process and work cooperatively with the Office of Enrollment to ensure a high-quality and diverse student body
  • Perform other university and departmental duties as expected of all faculty, including serving on committees and attending faculty meetings

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. Must meet CACREP requirements for a core faculty member. ABD will be considered.
  • Evidence of successful experience in providing individual and/or triadic clinical supervision
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience
  • Evidence of ability to engage in the integration of advocacy, social justice, cultural competence, and ethical practice into the training of counseling students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CACREP accreditation standards and expectations
  • Evidence of a strong professional identity within the counseling profession through membership and engagement in professional organizations pertinent to counseling (e.g., ACA, ACES, and/or state equivalents).
  • Background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Must hold or be eligible for LMHP or LIMHP licensure in the State of Nebraska
