If you're excited about jumping into real GIS work and learning as you go, this role is for you. LTU’s GIS Technician supports all kinds of projects—updating enterprise geodatabases, creating maps and graphics, helping with GPS and data-acquisition tools, and finding better ways for teams to work. You’ll get hands-on experience with ESRI tools, exposure to everything from water systems to street maintenance, and support from a team that values fresh ideas and continuous learning.

Desired: Coursework in geographic information systems; experience with ESRI GIS software; data acquisition equipment; experience interpreting construction design plans and record drawings; knowledge of water, wastewater, storm, paving, transportation, and right of way infrastructure/assets; asset management.

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in geographic information systems, computer science, engineering, geography or related field and two years of experience working with computer software, hardware and operations systems related to geographic information systems; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Certificate in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent.
