The Lincoln-Lancaster County's Disease Prevention Section is looking for an outgoing, self-motivated individual to be part of a team with the goal of protecting and promoting the Public Health. This position will be responsible for public health protection work primarily in the Food Safety Section. Primary duties will include conducting food establishment inspections, foodborne illness prevention, education, investigations, and providing food safety technical assistance to licensed food establishments and food employees. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in environmental science, environmental health, environmental engineering, or biological, chemical or physical sciences; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Necessary Special Requirements
Must be registered as a Provisional Registered Environmental Health Specialist in the State of Nebraska within one (1) month of appointment. Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating a vehicle may be necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties for some positions within this classification.
Full-time, M – F; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
