Are you detail-oriented and interested in processing information and providing customer service to members of our community? We’re looking for someone to join our team in a key role that involves complex, specialized clerical work. You’ll provide phone, email and in-person assistance to the public regarding their jury service and process returned summons. Additionally, you will review both criminal and civil legal documents in the judicial database system while playing an important part in supporting the Clerk of the District Court.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (40 hours per week)

What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and process court documents and maintain jury records
- Process both returned electronic and paper juror qualification forms and other mail
- Enter court case information in the JUSTICE database system
- Provide counter, email, and telephone assistance to jurors
- Compose, compile, proofread, and distribute correspondence or requested documents to appropriate parties
- Assemble packets and complete mailings for jury summons and contempt letters.
- Recognize and follow federal and state laws, Supreme Court and local court rules and regulations including any changes, and apply them in carrying out the Clerk’s responsibilities and duties
What We’re Looking For:
- Some knowledge of the legal process, court proceedings and judicial systems
- Some knowledge of legal terminology, documents, forms, and routine correspondence
- Considerable knowledge of modern office equipment, practices, and procedures
- Experience on the JUSTICE system preferred
- Ability to prepare, create, and/or process legal forms, documents, reports and correspondence per state statutes, Nebraska Supreme Court Rules and those of other designated state agencies
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with additional coursework in clerical work
- At least 6 months of experience in office and clerical work, especially with legal or court records
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience
