The City of Lincoln - Lancaster County Human Resources Department is seeking a Classification and Compensation Representative to join the Total Rewards Division!
This role is responsible for managing the City’s position control and classification infrastructure to ensure organizational accuracy, compliance, and effective workforce planning. Core responsibilities include administering a high volume of position actions, maintaining one-to-one alignment between positions and employees, and ensuring the accuracy of position data within Oracle. You will work closely with Finance and Payroll to align position structures with budget and compensation frameworks, while supporting compliance with requirements such as FLSA, ACA, pension reporting, and audit standards. A central focus of this role is strengthening data integrity and improving system-wide reporting accuracy.
In addition to these foundational duties, you will contribute to broader classification and compensation functions. This includes reviewing and updating position descriptions, supporting classification studies and job audits, participating in the creation and revision of job specifications, and conducting market research. You will assist with salary and benefit surveys, prepare related summaries and recommendations, take part in special projects, and provide high-quality customer service with professionalism, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in business practices and six months of experience in general typing and clerical work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.
