This position involves skilled technical work at the Journeyman level, with a strong emphasis on carpentry in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of County-owned buildings. Primary responsibilities include performing advanced carpentry tasks such as constructing, repairing, and upgrading built-in furniture, courtroom fixtures, judge’s desks, counters, and other custom woodwork. The role also supports general building maintenance by assisting with grounds upkeep; operating and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; performing minor plumbing repairs and fixture installations; and completing interior and exterior painting as needed. Work frequently involves remodels, upgrades, and precision carpentry projects that enhance the functionality and appearance of County facilities.


Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or equivalent with vocational/technical school level coursework or training in heating, air conditioning and ventilation repair or a related discipline including carpentry, plumbing, masonry or electrical repair plus two years of experience at the apprentice level in the same maintenance area; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.

Hours: Full time; M - F; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. subject to change during emergencies.
