- The Solid Waste Management Division is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation and utilities services year-round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU. We are excited to enhance our community’s quality of life together.We are currently seeking to fill the role of Utility Equipment Operator I to join our Solid Waste Management team. This position requires skilled work in the operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment at public solid waste facilities such as landfill, waste transfer, composting and recyclables collection sites.
Schedule: Four 10-hour days between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4:30 pm, with one weekend day and holidays, and occasional overtime.
THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent and six months of experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment heavier than pickup trucks; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.
Necessary Special Requirements: Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 90 days of appointment.
