Summer Internship – Railcar Division

The City of Lincoln seeks candidates for a summer internship partnership with the Kawasaki Railcar manufacturing facility in Lincoln, NE. Candidates should enjoy a fast-paced environment, demonstrate ability to follow directions and be punctual and self-motivated. Candidates interested in the following areas will be considered: inventory control, cycle counting, assembly; fabrication; custom fitting work – carpentry, flooring, brazing copper tubing and autobody; and routing and connection of electrical wiring.

Pay: $16/hr., free laptop, $200 finishing bonus if all internship requirements are met.
Schedule: Maximum of 30 hours per week for 8 weeks

Requirements:

• 18-24 years old
• Attend one educational workshop every Wednesday, June 3 – July 29, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. This will be held at the Lincoln City/County Building.
• Able to lift 44 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Experience with WMS Systems
• Knowledge or interest in production equipment and tools within standard operating procedures while maintaining quality output.
