Lincoln Parks and Recreation is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity at Pioneers Park Nature Center! We are looking for someone who is passionate about land management and skilled in maintaining facilities.
Join us at Pioneers Park Nature Center, where you will help care for and manage our expansive grounds and facilities. Our Nature Center encompasses 668 acres of diverse landscapes, including prairies, wetlands, and woodlands, as well as trails, interpretive centers, and gardens.
The ideal candidate will be eager to work in a team and contribute to maintaining and improving the habitats, trails, and overall visitor experience at the Nature Center.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the upkeep and management of the Nature Center’s diverse grounds, including prairies, wetlands, and woodlands.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of trails, interpretive centers, and gardens.
- Work collaboratively with the team to implement effective land management practices and habitat improvements.
This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., work at heights up to 20 feet, walk up to a mile on uneven terrain, and perform heavy manual work for extended periods of time in all types of weather.Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Work location: Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Nebraska Pesticide Applicators License in Category 00, 04, 08
- Arborist License.
- Knowledge of plants, including forbs, grasses, shrubs, and trees.
- Understanding of habitat management and restoration best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Any combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.
Necessary Special Requirement:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
