Help us support Calvert Recreation Center, a busy neighborhood hub serving families, youth, and community members through recreation programs, preschool, and Community Learning Center (CLC) partnerships.

About the Role

This part-time, classified position provides front-desk service, assists with financial and registration processes, supports Calvert Preschool, and helps maintain accurate program and grant records. It’s ideal for clerical professionals seeking steady, lower-hours work or individuals balancing school, caregiving, or other commitments.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide friendly customer service: greet visitors, answer phones, take messages, and assist families and program participants.
  • Prepare and submit childcare subsidy claims; follow financial controls; and assist with tracking expenses and balances.
  • Support Calvert Preschool with lesson prep, family conferences, learning journal entries, and data entry.
  • Manage program registrations and facility reservations using CivicRec, including discounts, attendance, and required program documents.
  • Collect grant-required data such as attendance, snack counts, surveys, and monthly invoices for the Calvert CLC.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in customer service, reception work, or front-desk support.
  • Comfort using computer systems for registrations, scheduling, attendance, or data entry.
  • Experience with financial clerical tasks such as claims, payments, or balance tracking.
  • Ability to maintain accurate program records and support grant reporting needs.
  • Experience supporting preschool, youth development, or childcare programs is a plus

Schedule

Part-time, 20 hours per week:

  • Monday & Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Scheduling is negotiable and may be adjusted for the right candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Compensation and Pay

$19.34 – $23.39 per hour

Pay is issued by direct deposit only; candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name.
