The Parks and Recreation department is looking for Recreation Van Drivers. In this role you will safely transport recreation program participants and staff to field trips, outings, and events while ensuring a positive and professional experience. What You'll Do:

  • Safely transport participants and staff to and from field trips, outings, and recreation events.
  • Operate passenger vans and shuttle buses with occupancy of 9–12 riders.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with passengers and staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Responsible and dependable drivers with a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely operate vans and shuttle buses (training provided).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safety and professionalism.

Compensation and Pay: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages. *This is an unclassified (temporary) position and not eligible for benefits.

Schedule: Flexible hours Monday through Friday, working 5 to 40 hours per week based on the season and your availability.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid State-issued driver’s license, and have a driving record with fewer than 3 points assessed for motor vehicle-related violations in the past 3 years.

The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln.

Our team manages 168 parks, 185.9 miles of trails, 97 playgrounds, over 83,000 street trees, nine public pools, six recreation centers, five golf (and disc golf) courses, five dog runs, a nature center, and beautiful public gardens. Our programs include recreation summer day camps, before and after school programs, clubs and classes for individuals with special needs, adult and youth team sports, nature-based classes and events, swimming lessons, wellness and fitness classes for all ages, and a variety of free events and classes for all ages.
