Do you have a passion for swimming or diving and love working with kids? Ready to share your skills, enthusiasm, and leadership with young athletes? Parks and Recreation is looking for seasonal Aquatics Youth Swim/Dive League Coaches to help lead, inspire, and develop swimmers and divers ages 6–18 at Lincoln Public Pools. What You'll Be Doing

  • Coaching and instructing youth swimmers/divers ages 6 - 18
  • Supervising participants during practices and competitors
  • Planning and leading practices focused on skill development and teamwork
  • Supporting athletes during swim and dive meets

What We're Looking For
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and instruct youth ages 6 - 18 years old
  • Ability Monday through Friday for individual pools scheduled practice time, weekly evening coaches' meetings, and Saturday morning swim and Thursday evening dive meets
  • Reliable and able to follow a varying schedule

Compensation and Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages. *This is an unclassified (seasonal) position and not eligible for benefits.

Schedule: Approximately 10-20 hours per week; more if hired as a lifeguard.


Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age or older prior to May 23, 2026. Must have high school or college swimming and/or diving experience.

The Parks and Recreation department is FUNdamental to Lincoln.

Our team manages 168 parks, 185.9 miles of trails, 97 playgrounds, over 83,000 street trees, nine public pools, six recreation centers, five golf (and disc golf) courses, five dog runs, a nature center, and beautiful public gardens. Our programs include recreation summer day camps, before and after school programs, clubs and classes for individuals with special needs, adult and youth team sports, nature-based classes and events, swimming lessons, wellness and fitness classes for all ages, and a variety of free events and classes for all ages.
