GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Administrative Dean for the School of Nurse Anesthesia within the College of Health Sciences. Develops the overall coordination and implementation of nurse anesthesia school curriculum and academic criteria. Responsible for evaluation of the curriculum and related aspects; develops and coordinates implementation of all aspects of didactic/clinical curriculum; conveys College of Health Sciences/School of Nurse Anesthesia mission and philosophy to internal and external constituents; and understands/keeps abreast of current trends and practices in graduate education.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Administers general operations of the nurse anesthesia programs including budget, faculty and staff, physical resources, program development, implementation and evaluation.
3. *Works collaboratively with College Administration to ensure appropriate course coverage; monitors faculty responsibilities including workload.
4. Facilitates communication between College Administration, faculty, staff and students.
5. *Oversees evaluation of nurse anesthesia faculty and programs.
6. *Directs the planning, organization and implementation of activities related to College and program accreditation and approvals.
7. Provides opportunities for faculty to fulfill the professional faculty roles of expert educator, scholarship and community service.
8. *Develops or modifies contracts appropriate for implementation of the nurse anesthesia curricula.
9. *In collaboration with Provost, recommends modifications to existing nurse anesthesia programs.
10. *Directly involved in strategic planning and implementation of strategic initiatives for the nurse anesthesia division of the College.
11. Represents the College in national, regional and community organizations and events which promote education and health care.
12. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
13. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
14. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Doctorally prepared Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Nebraska required. Minimum of five (5) years educational leadership experience and three (3) years clinical experience in a nurse anesthesia practice required. Prior experience in a graduate level educational setting preferred.
