ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
70% Issue approved policies which includes:
- Reviewing file for accuracy and making required changes;
- Verifying that applicant is eligible for benefits applied for;
- Verifying that applications marked as replacements have been processed correctly.
- Coding MIB’s;
- Complying with all company and state regulations;
- Coordinating with underwriters, contact center personnel, brokers and other departments and companies during the issue process;
- Preparing and reissuing policies; and
- Preparing duplicate policy requests
30% Coordinates application activity for all products, which includes:
- Managing all pending cases and COD cases which includes contacting brokers regarding pending requirements and activating cases when requirements are received;
- Corresponding with brokers via phone, email, and written correspondence by providing information needed to complete application and responding to request for additional information;
- Providing support to assigned underwriter as needed such as sending decline letters, labs, exams and closing cases;
- Providing information regarding adverse actions with various clients and departments;
- Remaining current on compliance for all company and state regulations;
- Following up with vendors for outstanding requirements, labs, exams, etc. and other insurance companies for 1035 exchange and transfers and running illustrations;
- Notifying reinsurers regarding policies with reinsurance; and
- Monitoring and maintaining assigned documents received and assigned underwriter and specialist queues.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Three to five years of experience in Underwriting or related experience required.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to execute tasks with detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in time management, ability to manage multiple priorities and continue to meet or beat deadlines.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with distribution systems, vendors, clients, and co-workers.
- In-depth product knowledge.
- Consistent and reliable attendance Is an essential function of this position.
- Talent required in values, work intensity, achiever, positivity, resourcefulness, command, relationship-extension, and exactness.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in business or related field, or related work experience, or equivalent required.
- Willing to obtain industry designation (ACS, PCS, FLMI)
PHYSICAL AND WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work 40 hours within flex-time guidelines required (plus overtime as needed and/or required)
